Description
The footbridge is located over the rail yard in Can Boixeres Station. The metro staff had to go over a level crossing from the warehouse area to the station and therefore it was necessary to erect the footbridge.
The footbridge is supported on two reinforced concrete piles. The span length is 31 meters, besides two cantilever sections of 2 meters long.
The truss bridge is designed as isostatic and simply supported. The connections diagonals-vertical-chords-struts are rigid.
The upper and lower chords are tubular profiles 140x140x10, diagonals and vertical members are also tubular profiles 90x90x8. Top and bottom chords are braced by struts and cross bracings consisting of angles 50x50x5.
Piles and access stairs were also designed.
